Chocolate Pumpkin Bread Recipe

When everything's coming up pumpkin in the fall, make this easy chocolate pumpkin bread recipe. Filled with classic pumpkin spice flavor, this sweet quick bread is perfect for breakfast, snacks or any time you need a slice of autumn.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips (and more to sprinkle on top)

Equipment

  • 9x5 Loaf Pan

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  2. Combine all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl
  3. Whisk together eggs, pumpkin, oil and water
  4. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened
  5. Fold in chocolate chips
  6. Pour into a greased 9x5-in. loaf pan and top with more chocolate chips
  7. Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 65-70 minutes
  8. Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely
