We decided to try having our own special Christmas We decided to try having our own special Christmas day. Christmas Day can sometimes be full of rushing and we wanted to enjoy a nice, slow day, just our family. Our course, they had to have #joyride from their favorite youtuber, @ryantrahan 💚❤️
October is Dyslexia Awareness Month, and this year October is Dyslexia Awareness Month, and this year it hits closer to home than ever.

Two of my children were recently diagnosed with dyslexia — and while the news came with a mix of relief and overwhelm, it also lit a fire in me.

💡 Dyslexia is not a lack of intelligence.
💡 It’s not laziness.
💡 It’s a different way of learning. And honestly…sometimes a more creative one.

But here’s the hard truth: Our traditional education system isn’t always built for dyslexic learners — so I’ve been on a mission to find tools and curriculum that are.

If you’re a parent walking this road — feeling lost, frustrated, or wondering if you’re doing enough — you are not alone.

✏️ New on the Blog

I just published a breakdown of the Best Homeschool Curriculum for Dyslexia, based on what’s actually working in our home.

In this post I cover:

✅ Reading & Spelling Programs (Orton-Gillingham based)
✅ Writing & Grammar Curriculum That Doesn’t Crush Confidence
✅ History & Science Options with Audiobooks / Hands-on Learning
✅ Gentle, Multi-Subject Unit Studies That Don’t Feel Like School
✅ A Full Math Section — Including How Dyslexia Affects Math Too

👉 Link in bio if you’d like to read it — or just comment “DYSLEXIA” and I’ll DM it to you!

Good news: you don’t need an expensive trip to make memories. I just rounded up my favorite affordable toddler friendly vacations that are fun, low-stress, and actually doable even with little ones in tow.

Think…
🏖️ Budget beach spots
🌲 Cozy cabin weekends
🐄 Farm stays with animals to love on
🏨 Easy hotel staycations (yes — even 20 minutes from home counts!)

If you’re feeling the pressure to “do something” for Fall Break but don’t want the chaos (or cost) — I’ve got you. 🍁

The Lord provided in a huge way today. Ivy is gett The Lord provided in a huge way today. Ivy is getting close to outgrowing her toddler bed, so we were going to get a bunk bed at tax time. Our neighbors asked if we needed a twin bed we were getting rid of. Not only is it a twin bed, but it can convert to a bunk bed for when Vera is bigger. So thankful 🥰 #godisfaithful #heprovides #frugalliving #largefamily
