How to Make Christmas M&M Cookie Bars
If you’re like me, the holidays can get you in trouble! These Christmas M&M Cookie Bars hit all the right places! After I made my Christmas Peppermint Pretzel Bites, I had some leftover M&Ms, so I knew, I HAD to make these!
These Christmas M&M Cookie Bars make a wonderful dessert for a Christmas party, neighbor gift, or just a sweet treat to get you through wrapping all those gifts! The best part is, it just takes some pantry staples and a handful of leftover Christmas M&Ms you may have from a different recipe!
Can I use other toppings for the M&M cookie bars?
Yes! You can add chocolate chips, sprinkles, whatever you fancy! I actually didn’t even quite have a cup of M&Ms and they turned out fine!
How to make Christmas M&M Cookie Bars
Ingredients
- 9×13 baking pan
- mixing spoon or hand mixer
- Mixing Bowl
- Oven
- 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
- 2 c brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 c flour
- 1 c Christmas M&Ms
- 1 c chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350° F.
- Spray a 9×13 baking pan with nonstick spray.
- Beat the butter and brown sugar until creamy. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat again.
- Stir together the salt, baking powder, and flour and slowly mix it into the butter mixture.
- Stir M&M's and chocolate chips (if using)
- Spread the batter in the prepared pan.
- Sprinkle the top with the extra candies.
- Bake for 22-25 minutes (less time = gooey bars, YUM)
- Let the cookie bars cool completely before cutting into squares
