Chili Night

Chili night is pretty big in our house. It’s one of the few meals every single member of my family not only eats, but devours. I even had to get a bigger crockpot to accommodate a double batch, just so we can enjoy leftovers.

I love that this recipe uses minimal ingredients, making it super quick to throw together and inexpensive. We love adding it to our meal plan, almost weekly, in the colder months. It is such a comforting, delicious meal!

I also have a secret ingredient that we love to have or add to our chili! Keep reading to find out what it is!

FAQs

First off, just about everything is good in the slow cooker (that’s why I love it), however; chili is perhaps the ideal slow-cooker dish because its flavor improves with a long, slow simmer.

Low and slow is where it’s at, but in a pinch, I’m sure no one would be complaining about chili cooked on high in the crockpot.

It’s perfectly safe as long as you don’t overfill your slow cooker and it comes to a safe temperature in less than two hours. However; I prefer to cook my ground beef upon purchase and freeze it. Then, when I go to make my chili, I just throw the bag of frozen ground beef in there. Making it even easier!
